Stephanie Meyer's Sweeps Top 4 Again

Led by Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, vampires devoured USA TODAY's Best-Selling Books list in 2009.
For the second year in a row, Meyer swept the top four spots. No other author — not even J. K. Rowling— has done that in the list's 16-year history.

Meyer's coattails pulled 16 other vampire titles onto the list of the year's 100 most popular books.

"Meyer had an unbelievable impact," says Michael Norris, books analyst for Simba Information, a market-research firm. He wonders what publishers will do when what he calls " 'the vampire industrial average' falls. Every cycle has an end."

But for now, Meyer — who has also benefited from Twilight movie adaptations, with more to come — has turned "the YA (young adult) category into the PG-13 of books," he says. "She's not just read by tweens and teens, but by a lot of 30-year-old women."

Robert Pattinson just doesn't get it

Even though he's already filmed several films as the guy, Robert Pattinson says that he still can't quite
understand the vampire's hold on his legion of female fans."With virtually
anyone the nice guys always seem to come last. You always get weirdos like
Edward who seem to attract women for some reason," Robsie-boy tells Dose.ca. He adds, "If Edward wasn't a fictional character and you
met him in reality he is like one of those guys who would probably be an axe
murderer or something." And what a sparkly, charming axe murderer he would
be!However, RPattz claims that the adoration and obsession projected upon him
doesn't bother him. Rather, he says it's "amazing" and "not scary." He just
still doesn't quite understand it. Don't question it, Rob, just embrace the crazy fan love.
Personally, I like Pattinson the musician more so the actor but since he's too much of a pussy to do open mic (his words from Comic Con, I was there I HEARD HIM!) I will have to settle for his sexy ass on the big screen.

GQ Writer Apologizes for Offending Robert Pattinson Fans

A writer from GQ.com by the name of Alex Bilmes had some harsh words for us fans of Robert Pattinson only to quickly back pedal the following day due the response he received.

On June 3rd he posted this snarky comment:
I'm posting this stuff on GQ.COM, a site aimed primarily at British men. I take it you're not all regular visitors, so how does it work? Do you sit by your terminals with your hands down your pants, staring at your Twilight screensavers and waiting for your "Robert Pattinson" Google Alerts to ping, drawing your attention to some tossed off slandering of your hero's name? In the absence of a sexy vampire in your lives, what the hell is eating you women?

And the next day he had this to say:
I feel I owe you all an apology. You're right: What I wrote yesterday was snarky and dishonest and mostly designed to rile you and I'm not proud of it. I'm sorry.

The truth is I am genuinely curious about Robert's appeal. I'm a heterosexual man, 36 years old, gainfully employed, in a relationship. We simply don't have these kind of obsessions, and I for one find them hard to understand. I mean, I think Megan Fox is attractive, but I don't spend much time thinking about her. Certainly don't feel the need to communicate with fellow Meganites, to defend her when she's maligned, to shout my love from the message-board rooftops.

This is not in any way to belittle your feelings for Robert or denigrate your activities online or off-. None of this is meant to sound condescending. I'm a person who considers himself reasonably intelligent and who spends his working life monitoring, reporting on and interacting with celebrity culture. I'm fascinated by fame, and famous people, and drawn to them for reasons I don't fully understand myself. So I can empathise with your love for Robert, even if I wonder at its intensity.

We all know his antecedents, of course, from James Dean to Leonardo DiCaprio. There's nothing new about the worship of screen idols, but it's been a long time since I've seen anything approaching the strength of emotion that surrounds Robert. That's why I'm so curious.

It's been enlightening reading your comments (even the ones that questioned my girlfriend's sanity). At the risk of using yet another trite vampire metaphor, can we now call a halt to the bloodletting?

I'd hate to leave it like this.

**Haha...while I think I can possibly accept his apology for insulting me and all the other RP fans, I cannot forgive him for liking Megan Fox. But that's just me. What do you think about his comments and apology? Let us know in the comments.

Thanks to the Twilight Examiner for the tipoff.

Rachelle LeFevre discusses the sexual dark side & draw of Vampirism

"I remember when we were shooting the big vampire baseball game, and I had this impulse to run my fingers down Nikki Reed's leg — like a creepy bug. I didn't do it on the first take because I thought about it too much and censored myself," says Lefevre, who actually wrote Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke a letter explaining her long-standing vampire fixation and her deep desire for the role.

Robert Pattinson discuss music

Found this story on Little About....
"Washington, March 16 (ANI): Robert Pattinson would love to let his tunes mingle with those of Brit singer Will Young.
The 22-year-old, best known for playing Edward Cullen in the film adaptation of Twilight, had previously revealed that he had music as a plan B should his acting career fail.
The Hottest Male Movie Vampire, who had two of his compositions in the hit vampire movie, now says that he would not think twice about a duet with Young.
"Will has a great voice and it would blend really well with mine but I bet he has no idea who I am. But you never know," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
Meanwhile, the Hollywood heartthrob, who is set to reprise his blood-sucking role opposite Kristen Stewarts Bella in ‘New Moon’, is looking forward to put an end to their onscreen relationship in the sequel. (ANI)"
