You wouldn’t really think that Lara Stone could look anything but the pinnacle of supreme stylishness… but then along comes this editorial from the New York Times T Magazine and that notion is shattered. There stands Lara in a knee-length dark denim skirt and oversized top printed with flowers, the kind your grandma might have given you back in 1994. But here’s the odd and wonderful thing: as much as the ’90s is calling for a few of these outfits back, the styling doesn’t come off as distasteful. The shots of Lara back home in the Netherlands have a refreshingly relaxed, girl-next-door feel. Like she’s simply stepped away from all the glamour for a while.
But that also doesn’t mean that other parts of the editorial don’t creep into a different type of travel-bug glamour. Flitting from those ’90s outfits back to the ‘70s in flared jeans or overalls, or yet more ‘60s with Bardot-esque pigtails and denim shorts, the fun level gets ramped right up across Sara Moonves’ styling.
